Love of libraries inspires legacy

York University alumna Peggy lau

Alumna Peggy Lau (BA’08) is honouring her time at York with a gift towards her favourite place, the library.

Peggy immigrated from Hong Kong to Canada at a young age. Like many York students, she was the first in her family to attend university. With the demands of student life, Peggy found solace at the library.

Soon after graduating, Peggy made the impactful decision to arrange for a portion of her estate to benefit York’s Scott Library. She became the youngest member of York’s White Rose Legacy Circle.

“The library not only gave me a place to study for hours while I was a student, but it also gave me a unique space to explore one of my greatest interests: reading.”

With a gift in her Will, Peggy can make a positive impact on a special learning environment for future students without affecting her current lifestyle.
